Sign with ID card
Sign with ID card uses the chip embedded in a national identity document to authenticate the signatory and apply a legally binding signature, without requiring an external token or card reader. The document’s certificate is read directly from a mobile phone using NFC (Near Field Communication).
How it works
The signatory taps their national ID card against the back of an NFC-enabled mobile phone. Quantidia reads the certificate stored on the chip, validates it against the issuing authority, and uses it to apply the signature to the document, all from the signer’s own device.
When to use it
- Countries and regions where citizens hold an eID-enabled national identity card
- Public sector and government processes requiring official identity verification
- Banking and telecom onboarding that must verify identity against an official document
- Situations where issuing or shipping an external signing token is not practical
Key benefits
- No external token, card reader or additional hardware required
- Identity verified directly against an official government-issued credential
- Fully mobile: works from the signer’s own NFC-enabled phone
- Delivers a high level of legal assurance, comparable to a qualified signature
