What is the Digital Signature?

Quantidia’s Digital Signature is built on Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and qualified digital certificates, delivering the highest level of legal assurance defined by the eIDAS Regulation for a Qualified Electronic Signature. It provides a legal presumption of authorship and integrity equivalent to a handwritten signature in every EU member state, and is recognised under comparable frameworks such as the US ESIGN Act.

How it works with Quantidia

The signatory’s identity is validated against a qualified certificate issued by a trusted certification authority, or through Quantidia’s own qualified trust services. Each signature is sealed with a qualified timestamp under RFC 3161, cryptographically binding the signatory, the document and the moment of signing so that any later modification is immediately detectable.

When to use it

  • Contracts and agreements that require the strongest legal presumption of validity
  • Regulated processes in banking, insurance and public administration
  • Cross-border transactions that must be recognised in multiple jurisdictions
  • Long-term archiving of documents that must remain verifiable for years

Key benefits

  • Legal presumption of authorship and integrity in the EU and equivalent frameworks worldwide
  • Qualified timestamping and long-term validation (LTV/LTA) support
  • Protection against repudiation, tampering and identity fraud
  • Suitable for the most heavily regulated industries and cross-border operations
